Before I worked with Eileen and Compassionate Sleep Solutions, my sleep was so minimal that I didn’t know what else to do. My husband and I were getting 90 minutes of sleep at a time before my 4 –month-old would cry out for a feeding. He was barely getting 2 hours of sleep at a time. He never really slept well since birth, but we were reaching a breaking point and needed help.
I knew of sleep training and all of the books, talked with friends who did it, however I knew that I could not do it alone. I needed guidance.
My son was young, a preemie and a colicky baby. We were desperate and ready for consistent sleep. I found Eileen through an online search and my decision to work with her was validated by a friend and business owner in Boulder, Colorado. I was still hesitant, nervous, but also relieved that this might actually be the answer.
Eileen gave me exactly what I needed. A 20+ page written plan with all of the steps, email support and support phone calls. In addition, she offered me research and websites in which to do more reading.
Eileen is compassionate and genuine herself and was able to calm me down when I didn’t think I could continue with the plan. However, I realized that what I was doing wasn’t the “crying it out.” It was a supportive and caring approach. Eileen continued to reassure me that what I was offering my son was the gift of sleep, and the practice of “falling asleep.” I was there for him and he knew it. Now, my son wakes up happy in the morning, quietly cooing in his crib.
No, it is not perfect, but most nights are great. My 6-month-old is now capable of sleeping 12-hour stretches. Although, a good night is a 7 to 8 hour stretch of sleep and I can live with that!
As an anxious, first time mother, Eileen was able to support me entirely. I could not have done this without this program and her guidance along the way. I am blessed to have found her.
